Standartnews

The Tel Aviv court lifted the ban imposed on businessman Mikhail Chernoy who was so far restricted from traveling abroad. The movement restriction was imposed by the prosecution, which charged Chernoy with giving a bribe to Oleg Chernomorets, member of the city council of the town of Eilat. "I haven't seen a single piece of evidence proving that Mikhail Chernoy really wanted to offer a graft to Chernomorets", declared judge Nira Lydski. On Monday she dismissed as ungrounded the prosecution's claim to restrict Chernoy from leaving Israel. The court ruled that the only proven fact is that once Chernoy really made a donation to a boxing club, chaired by Chernomorets. INTERVIEW Standartnews: Georgi Valkanov

We'll invest in regions with high unemployment rate, says Georgi Valkanov.
Georgi Valkanov was born in 1974. He studied international business and finances in Great Britain. From 1999 he heads "Finance and Operational Analysis" Directorate with the MG corporation. He is the manager of the four textile factories the corporation owns.
- Mr. Valkanov, what is the capacity of the four textile factories the MG owns?
- Our four factories produce about 2 million pieces of clothing a year. Their yearly trade turnover is over 15 million levs, and almost all of the produce is meant for export. We are making clothing for big European and American chain-stores. Recently we had negotiations with "Benetton" and hope to start working with them soon, as well as with "Max Mara". During the last year only we invested 2.2 million levs in these four factories, mostly for new equipment. This year we have envisaged to invest over 3 million levs. We are planning to double up the capacity of the four factories and make over 4 million pieces of clothing. We are about to seal contracts with state institutions in several countries, Italy, Germany, Spain. We'll make uniforms for post offices, army, police, medical establishments. High standard is the requirement they set and we do meet it.
- Will you open a new factory?
- Yes, there is such a project and currently we are looking for a site for its construction. We are investing in regions with high unemployment rate and we'll stick to this tradition.
- How many jobs will you create when the new factory starts working?
- Some 300-400, as many as in "Nora"-Lovetch, which is our biggest factory. We employ about 1000 people in all four factories. This sector will be developing from now on. This is one of the industries where Bulgaria has the leading position, we have the most modern equipment. In this sector we may really be compared to BMW works.
